Rook should move first so have him move forward within five spaces of the dredge and attack its Strength. Have them both moved to the front facing the enemy. Once you have the Brute taken down, turn your attention to the two (or more) Grunts. If you want some more Renown, you can let it bring in an extra Grunt or two or you can just eliminate it. When the Brute’s HP begins to get low, it will try to move away from the fight to summon more Grunts. Simply follow directions given on screen and soon Ludin will be taken out of the battle and leave you with the other three.īegin by focusing on the Brute by alternating from whittling down its Armour and Strength (remember Strength affects both damage and HP). If Gunnulf has gotten a few kills, you should be able to upgrade him for five Renown (refer to Party/Character Builds page). In the Heroes tent, you will be able to see each of your characters and view them individually to see their stats (all of this information can be found on the Hints & Tips page). After this, you will be taken to the campsite screen where you will learn the basics of improving your characters, resting, and mock battles. When you’re ready to proceed, you can leave the world map and Vognir will decide what route the caravan will take on its journey to Grofheim. If you wish to learn more of the world you can highlight areas and select them with to get more information. You will then make camp and speak with Vognir.Īfter a good amount of talking, you will enter a tutorial of the world map. Soon you will be stopped and your quartermaster Mogr will speak up. The next day will quickly begin and your caravan will start to move from Strand. Then choose the great hall to continue the game which will also give you 20 renown. Speak with Ludin first and when able to choose the third option ‘I have a habit of recording history. You can choose to catch up with Hakon, speak with Ludin the prince or go to the great hall at the top of the town to continue the story. Over the course of the battle try to get at least one kill with Eirik and Vagard to unlock the following achievements: Use your Shieldbanger as a tank as whenever he is hit, he will lower the enemies armour rating allowing you to cause more damage with the others. Once they get close enough, use Gunnulf to get close to as many as possible and use his Tempest ability which should kill or seriously injure a few of them. Instead try to draw your enemies closer to you. This can be a bit of a tough fight if you are having trouble learning the combat system. Choose the first option to enter a battle. A dialogue box will pop up with Eirik speaking. When back on the town screen, select the building with the Mead House sign above it and choose to enter. A man named Gunnulf will now appear, choose whichever option you like here to continue and do the same with Eirik. Choose to pay Hadd when given the option to get the information you are after. You and Eirik will meet with Hadd to locate the rest of the party you fought earlier. After the initial discussion, follow the prompts and select the marketplace when told to.

You will start by talking to someone called Eirik. Once the fight is over, another scene will play out and the game will truly begin.
